ANCHOR
You've probably measured your worth by what you accomplish, the impressive things you can point to, more than you'd like to admit.
SCRIPTURE TEXT
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal... If I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing... And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." — 1 Corinthians 13:1-2, 13 (NIV)

TENSION
Paul doesn't say impressive gifts are worthless in themselves. Tongues, prophecy, mountain-moving faith, extreme sacrifice: he says they're worth nothing without love, specifically. That's a strange kind of accounting. Capability multiplied by zero love still equals zero. It means the anxious drive to prove yourself through achievement, however extraordinary, was never actually the thing securing your worth in the first place. And notice what does last. Not the achievements, but faith, hope, and love, with love named as the greatest of even those. The permanence you're anxious to build through accomplishment was already being offered to you through something else entirely.
REFLECT
What are you currently trying to secure through achievement or capability, that this passage says was never actually where your worth was located?
PRAYER
I've been chasing the anxious math of proving myself, as if enough impressive things would finally add up to security. Thank You that what actually remains isn't what I've accomplished, but faith, hope, and love. Let love be the thing I'm actually resting in today, not the next thing I have to prove. Amen.
