ANCHOR
You've probably kept pushing long after you had anything left to push with, because stopping felt like it might cost you the very thing you were working toward.
SCRIPTURE TEXT
"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness... I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." — Jeremiah 31:3, 25 (NIV)

TENSION
These two promises sit in the same chapter for a reason. An everlasting love isn't just a comforting abstraction, it's the thing that makes the offer of refreshment credible. If the love could run out, resting would be a risk. You'd have reason to keep pushing rather than trust that God would still be there once you stopped. But because the love is “everlasting,” not contingent, not something you have to keep earning, the invitation to be refreshed isn't a trap. It's an actual offer, backed by something that outlasts your effort.
REFLECT
What are you still pushing through right now that you could actually lay down today, trusting the love underneath it isn't going anywhere?
PRAYER
I've been pushing past empty because stopping felt too risky. Thank You for a love that isn't waiting on my effort to keep it in place. Refresh what's weary in me and satisfy what's faint, not because I've earned rest, but because You already love me enough to give it. Amen.
