There's a tiredness that isn't about needing more sleep — it's the kind that comes from carrying something for so long you've forgotten what not carrying it felt like.
SCRIPTURE TEXT
"I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." — Jeremiah 31:25 (NIV)

TENSION
This verse is short, almost easy to skip past in a chapter full of bigger promises — ransom, covenant, return from exile. But notice it's addressed to two specific states: weary and faint. Not sinful, not unfaithful, not in exile even — just exhausted and running on empty. That's a category of need the rest of the chapter doesn't quite cover: sometimes the thing you actually need isn't rescue from an enemy or a new covenant, it's simply to be refreshed, because you're just plain tired. God doesn't respond to that weariness with a bigger assignment or a call to try harder. He responds with refreshment and satisfaction — rest that actually reaches the faintness, not just papers over it.
REFLECT
Where are you simply weary right now, not sinful or lost, just tired — and have you let yourself ask God for refreshment rather than more strength to push through?
PRAYER
I'm tired in a way that isn't about sleep. I've been pushing through instead of asking to be refreshed. I don't need a bigger task right now — I need what this verse actually promises: to be satisfied, not just to keep going. Refresh what's faint in me. Amen.
